What is Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride + Procaine Hydrochloride?

Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, Procaine Hydrochloride

is a sterile injectable solution containing diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine with anticholinergic and sedative properties. Antihistamines act by competing with histamine at receptor sites on affected cells, thereby reducing allergic reactions.

Dimahistamine® has a rapid onset of action. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is widely distributed throughout the body, including the central nervous system. A portion of the drug is excreted unchanged in the urine, while the remainder is metabolized in the liver.

The formulation also contains procaine hydrochloride to reduce pain at the injection site.

Indications :

Indicated for:

• Skin allergies
• Generalized edema
• Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
• Eczema
• Indigestion (overfeeding)
• Drug intoxication
• Adjunct therapy in certain diseases

Dosage and Administration :

Administer by intramuscular injection or slow intravenous injection:

• 10 ml per 100 kg body weight once daily, or 3–5 ml per 100 kg body weight, repeated after 12 hours.

Treatment should continue for 3–5 days.
